How do I scroll left and right in MC5 Track View, using the keyboard?
Whenever I'm scrolled to the right in Track View, and I want to get back to the left edge of the tracks, the only way I can find to do that is to drag the horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the screen. In the Piano and Staff views, the left/right arrow keys will scroll horizontally. Is there some way to use the keyboard to scroll horizontally in Track View? -Stuart

Yes. You use the left/right arrow keys. That's the way it's supposed to work; don't know why yours doesn't. Do you just want to go to the left side of the current view or rewind all the way to the beginning?

I'm trying to rewind to the beginning of the tracks. I looked at the MC keyboard shortcuts in Help, and it shows that the arrow keys only move between track controls in Track View. However, the menu command shortcuts show Ctrl+Home as Go-Beginning, which works, so I guess my problem is solved. Thanks for responding, -Stuart

You can also click [W] to rewind, and use the spacebar for play, stop/pause.

Thanks for the [W] tip. That's even handier than Ctrl+Home. There doesn't seem to be a Pause in Track View, unless I'm missing something. Unlike the Play/Pause button at the top of the screen, the Spacebar stops playback and returns the play-head to its current starting point. Is there a keyboard Pause feature? -Stuart

It's under Options>Global. Uncheck the box that reads something like 'On Stop Rewind to Now Marker'. Then the spacebar will stop (pause) playback wherever the Now line is when you hit it. Hit the spacebar again to start playback from that point.

I like the rewind to now marker. But that's just me. I click on the timeline as I'm listening if there is a part I want to work on or listen to a bit more carefully. The kick in the butt is when I'm near the end of a song and hear something before I think to click the time line to establish a new NOW point...I hit the space bar to stop and it goes to the beginning..... dohhhhh!
