How do I setup a possibility to export .OGG files?

I'm having trouble installing the .OGG encoder. I'm using the .REG files that came with Sonar. The registry entries get installed fine, but when I try to export the song, it gives me the error "Unable to launch "Ogg Vorbis Standard Quality" Encoder". There's obviously something else I must do? I haven't done anything else than installed the registry entries.

EDIT: Sorry, found some official instructions now and tried to install a 3rd party encoder. I opened the External Encoder Configuration utility and gave the "Ogg Vorbis Standard Quality" registry the path where the encoder .EXE is located, but I'm still getting the same error. Is there a specific "superior" encoder I should be using (like LAME is for all MP3 business)?

vorbis ogg is a different format to LAME (which produces mp3)

mp3 is the standard, and to me like vhs .. not the best standard..

ogg drop / lame drop are very easy to use IF your having issues.. just export and make it a 16 bit file

Yes, but that's exactly what I wanted to avoid - I want to enable Sonar to export directly into OGG files.

I know OGG is a different format than MP3, I just pointed out that everyone is using LAME for their MP3 needs.

Any help to this, people? I can't seem to get it to work, even though I've tried many different encoders.

Check the documentation for the ogg encoder, which will specify the command line syntax for invoking it. Then run it manually from a command prompt. If it fails, you are more likely to get a helpful error message. If it succeeds, you'll know what's needed for the External Encoder configuration.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Thankyousir! In the end, I didn't need to mess around with command line syntax, but looking for info on that I found an encoder that I got working right away. It's oggenc2. And I guess knowing how the syntax works doesn't hurt either.

Also Fog, thanks anyway. I got the oggdropxpd for backup, and it's very handy if I'm outside Sonar for some other task.
