How do you convert MIDI SMF0 to SMF1?

I downloaded and imported a MIDI file into Sonar X1 that is in SMF0 format (all data on one track).  How do I convert that file/track to SMF1 (data separated onto individual tracks based on MIDI channel).  Thanks!

It did not work.  I tried the second method (Save As a MIDI 1 format, then importing it back in) but still got all data on one track (actually two tracks - one track has 9 channels of data and smaller track with 2 channels of data - very strange).    I don't now how to "Split Channel to Tracks" CAL script on the track.  If someone can provide specific instructions I can try that. I have never done "scripts" with Sonar.  
 
Could this file be protected in some way to prevent one from converting it to MIDI 1?  If so,  maybe I could delete certain lines in Event List that may be preventing the conversion - just a wild guess.    Thanks.

As a test, I imported a confirmed type 0 MIDI file into Sonar Platinum and Sonar automatically distributed the different channels onto their respective tracks. 

With your particular file , I think "split Channel to Tracks.CAL" is going to be the way to do it. 

Here is how to do it. 

Load your midi file (or import it) and select just that track.
Go to Process menu and click "Run Cal".  A file dialog box will open.  Hopefully the file "split Channel to Tracks.CAL" is listed there. Open that and it will ask you for the first destination track and the MIDI file should be distributed to the various tracks, starting at your destination track.
