How do you get midi from your guitar into Sonar?

My GR33 just died. Worked well for many years to get my guitar playing into Sonar via midi. Just wondering what others are using now to translate their guitar into midi. I know I can do this with Melodyne, but something about using my Godin to create midi that still appeals to me. Thanks in advance.

    I use this: http://www.yourockguitar.com/yrg-gen2/

It is kinda cheaply made, but it works for the most part.  Guitar Center had it on sale for $99 at one point so I got it.
t does at least let you do chords

+1 on jamorigin. Pretty amazing how good it is. I use it to input notes into Finale.

I like the Yourock gen2 and use it the most. I also have a GR-55. I think it's better than the GR-33 for gtr2midi, but on the vguitarforum some people think the GR-33 tracks better. On the down side the guitar out output is noisy (output to guitar amp) and the hold pedal can't be reassigned - you have to use the pedal in the box. Besides the gtr2midi the PCM sounds are better in GR-55 and you get COSM modelling as well so you can blend the COSM and PCM together.

The Fishman Triple Play is popular, I have it on a guitar, but the guitar has a large radius neck and the FTP doesn't work very well under those conditions so I haven't used it much.

And don't forget Melodyne does this. I have exclusively created all my midi bass tracks now by simply drag and drop my audio bass tracks into a midi track. About 10-15 minutes of editing and you have a dead ringer to what you played on the bass. I guess if you have the full version of Melodyne it would do this for guitar chords too.

Thanks for all the input.  A number of different approaches to basically get the same thing accomplished.  Jamorigin has a demo, so I think I will download that and see what it can do.  The midi obtained from my GR-33 also took some editing to clean up.  Depending on what style I was playing, it would add some notes that I am sure I didn't play! Just kidding there.  This whole recording thing has revealed quite a bit of sloppiness that I just didn't catch going live.  And I agree, the guitar output side was  bit noisy.  I definitely need something that does multiple notes and chords.  Melodyne is a definite option, and I have done a few things with it that have turned out well, except I noticed a few notes Melodyne processed that are slightly out of time with the audio recorded.

I will come back to this next week after returning from eclipse watching. Thanks again for everyone's input!

I was actually impressed at how well Melodyne captured the notes in my case. I've not had timing issues at all.
The only glitches are a few random notes added that I didn't play and a weird behavior of duration. It seems to record the note duration longer than they were played  and they overlap causing dropouts on repeated notes. I have to slip them all back globaly by a 64th.    But it's a fairly accurate representation of what I played. Of course you get best results when you play near to perfectly and try to avoid slurring pitch. I haven't tried guitar because I only have the basic version so cannot do chords.

The JamOrigin does fairly well.  Actually seems to track a bit better than the GR-33 used to track.  Not sure if the MIDI output instruction was in the HELP dialogue, but I eventually found out how to output MIDI by clicking on the VST2 down arrow.  Up pops some options to enable MIDI output!  A friend has a GR-55 and I will borrow it next week.  Then compare the 2 input methods to Melodyne translation.  I did try out a Roland SY-300, but quickly found that while the SY-300 can transmit some MIDI data, it does not transmit MIDI notes.  Thanks everyone!
