I'm getting there - for Xmas, I was bought the Boss MT2 and an SM57.

Micing up my small Marshall, running through the MT2 is a LOT lcoser - though not being able to play at any sort of volume still hampers the process.

Examples....hmmm....maybe, off the top of my head, the guy in Evenescense gets close to what I want.

I'm not really up to speed with a lot of metal bands to be honest - if I hear something I'll be sure to post it on here.

the best way to get "THAT" sound, is to make that sound exactly the way you want to hear it, and put a good mic on it, with good mic technique.

mix to taste.

yummy
