How do you hide "most" of the tracks?

When working with Track Manager, I find it surprising that there's not an option to select "all" tracks or "none", like in the Edit Filter dialogue. If I just want to view, say, three nonadjacent tracks, out of 24 or more, how is the best way to go about that? Using Track Manager and selecting or de-selecting 21 tracks is a really tedious way to accomplish this task.

Select AUDIO, MIDI and SYNTH buttons on the right. (3 in place of one, but better than 21.

Hadn't thought of it like that. I guess by telling TM to hide all audio tracks, for example, that would effectively uncheck all tracks and then I could go back and re-check the ones I want to see. Thanks for the tip.

OK - I guess I'm still unclear on the concept. My project is all audio tracks - no MIDI or anything else. I can hide 3 out of 24 audio tracks, leaving 21 showing. How do I hide 21 and leave 3 showing - without clicking on each track in the TM? I still think there should be All and None options. What am I doing wrong - or is this just "one of those things" you have to deal with?

there is no way to do what you're looking to do without clicking each of the 21 tracks.

One must ask, why you need to hide them?  If they are no longer needed then delete or  archive them. (and check hide) . I am in the habit of, if a project becomes cluttered with outtakes and working tracks, to save that file then delete all the stuff no longer used and to do a "save as" to clean things up. Now I can start over making a new mess. If per chance ( and it's never happened yet) I need to retrieve a track I would simply import it from that audio folder. Archiving will do about the same thing too.

I hide archived tracks all the time, but you can't select ALL or NONE from the TM like he wants to do.  it would be a good feature, tho.

To just view any number of non-adjacent tracks, first select the tracks in question, then hit 'h'

    Job done

To view them all again, hit 'a'

Also - it makes sense to have your track folders minimised. First minmise a folder, then right click the folder header and select 'lock height'

Bingo - that's what I was looking for. Track Manager was the wrong tool for the job.
