How do you market your album?

So we have a new album out, The Moderns Blue Sky. It's available on spotify, itunes, and everywhere. And it's free from our bandcamp site, https://themoderns1.bandcamp.com/album/blue-sky-album. It's probably considered "alternative," "indie rock,"  or "indie pop,"

Now that it's out, we're focused on marketing it for a bit. We aren't really all that interested in generating revenue, more interested in building a following. We think the streaming platforms are the best place to do that, spofity, apple music, etc. Spotify probably takes highest priority.

I've submitted it to almost 20 blogs so far, with a rejection to even listen to it from all of them. The blogs were all through submithub.com and I selected only blogs that say they review our genre and that match what we're doing.

Not really discouraging for us as we are seasoned at sending stuff to record companies for many years and am used to the drill. The only responses we ever had from record companies only got us into bad contracts and problems!! :)

However, we're pretty new to the social media, blog, streaming world. So I'm just looking for tips or others experiences as to how to increase streaming and followers.

Thanks, gabo

For myself, I mostly rely on word of mouth (and my website URL on my guitar case when busking).

If I was seriously trying to push for a commercial endeavor, I'd hire a PR/Advertising company.
