How do you pause play?

How do you pause play?

I click on the play button and it takes me back to the beginning of the piece. The same happens when I hit the space bar. Any help would really be appreciated.

    I could not find a pause myself. But i did find that you can slide the progress bar to where you want to stop and it will start from there. Or the easy way is to set a marker at the location you want to start or re-start from. or just click on the spot of the time ruler where you want to start, and the progress marker will appear there and it will start there

    When I hit the stop button, it stops but doesn't rewind to the beginning. Find the transport toolbar (it's been so long since I've been in there, I forgot how to find it) and see what the settings are. You should be able to set it so it doesn't rewind. I would find that annoying. Greg
