How do you replace a plugin?

I was really hoping drag and drop would resolve Sonar's previous clunkiness in plugin handling but it's still awkward to replace a plugin in a track. Say you start a track using Hypersonic and halfway decide to change to Omnisphere. I was hoping (as you can do this with other hosts that support drag n drop) that you would be able to just drag the new instrument onto the place where the old one was but all you can do is create a new track with the new plugin and then faff around with copy/paste of content. Is there a better way?

I believe one of the Bakers said this was on the list for a future update, although I'd be very surprised if it's included in the upcoming patch.

+1 though, I'd love to be able to quickly replace a plugin by drag and drop.

Yes, when viewing the promo videos about "everything drag'n'drop", my first thought was "well this gonna be handy for VSTs...
    Sigh

Will this be in the next update? I was looking forward to drag and drop but not being able to use it to replace plugins was a real disappointment.

OK please someone tell me, after having been a request for so long, that now it is coming I won't have to pay to upgrade to Producer and then Expanded just to get something that should have been in it all along?

Unfortunately it looks like you're going to have to pay up my friend.

That is outrageous! - It's a basic feature that should have been there all along (and that advertising implied it was). Well I'm fed up with pumping money into Cakewalk - spent most of the last year till the last patch unable to even use Sonar as intended due to the automation bug
