How do you split a long audio file into multiple files?...

Hey all -
I've noticed this has come up a couple of times so here's the scoop:

1) Set Markers:
 + Open the Editor
+ Load your audio file (click "File > Import" or Drag & Drop your file into the Editor window)
+ Set a marker at the start of each song / segment
    - Click the "Insert Marker" button (last button on the top right of the window)
    - Enter a name for the marker
    - Click "Ok"

NOTE: You can also right-click the timeline and select "Insert Marker" to create a marker. To create markers in real-time, press F-11 while recording.

2) Export Audio:
+ Click "File > Save As > WAV"
+ Check the "Use Markers As Track Indicators" option at the bottom of the "Save As..." dialog
 + Choose a destination directory
+ Set Sample rate & Bit Depth (44.1kHz, 16bit is fine for most things)
 + Click "Save"

Here's a walk-thru

3) Convert Audio (optional):
 + Open the Encoder
+ If you haven't already, create a Target preset
    - Double-click the empty target ("Click to Insert Preset")
    - Select the "Encode Format" (MP3 for example)
    - Set the format "Options" (Stereo, 44100 for example)
    - Click the "Naming" tab
    - Choose a destination directory for the converted files ("Same as Original File" for example)
    - Choose a file naming convention ("Automatic" uses the source file's filename)
    - Click "Ok" to save the target preset
+ Drag & Drop the files you would like to convert on to your new target preset

4) Add / Edit Metadata (optional):
 + Open the Tagger
+ Add the MP3 files you would like to edit (click the "Add" button and select files)
+ Edit metadata (artist, album, etc).
+ If a field (album for example) applies to all open files, check the box next to the field.
+ When finished, click the "Write Tags" button & close Tagger.

This is literally a step-by-step guide so apologies in advance for the length. It will probably take you twice as long to read this as it will for you to go and do it (once you get the hang of things).

Anyway, hope it helps!
-matt.
