Haha yeah, the SFX synth was zipped but after installing it it's just a bunch of application extensions and .DAT files, there doesn't seem to be any samples. SD2 on the other hand has all the samples (I presume) in the right folder, and I can open them and listen to them in WinMediaPlayer, I just can't seem to access them in MC. =/

I have contacted Cakewalk, to see if they can shine any light on it. So hopefully they will actually get back to me! =)

Yeah that's the problem, when I go PROG> there is nothing there!?
Everything is just kinda greyed out.
Like I said I do have the contents in the same folder as SD2 which (I believe) is in the right place.
Hope I'm not just forgetting something that is just staring me in the face.
But I think I've done everything right.
ok, just to clarify, don't actually click on the PROG> but click in the window just to the right of it, where it says NEW PROGRAM.

that will open a new window called the PROGRAM BROWSER.
then click on one of the "+" next to one of the categories to open kits to choose from in a category.
then double click on one of the kit names and it will load into SD2.

and NOW I've loaded a kit and the kit pieces are no longer "greyed out."  you can't see my mouse cursor, but in this next photo, you can see the kick has a light on above it, that's the indication you get when it's playing because I've clicked on it when I took the screenshot.  you can't do that until you load the kit.

I'd like to take this opportunity to warn everyone reading this post to turn down the soft synth track's volume slider before playing anything through it. Don't click any of the SD 2 drums or play a MIDI track through it or any other synth without turning the volume down first. Many of them are very loud and will clip/distort easily.
Especially SD 2 and some of the electronic 'synth' synths like Triangle II.

Edit: fumble fingers.

Good point to raise from time to time, Greg.
Some of the more free-form synths. such as Triangle II, Dreamstation, etc, are capable of pruducing some very pure and painfully loud tones.
Doubly important if you are wearing headphones while experimenting.
You can't hear 19khz, it just hurts when you turn it up.

Beagle:
I did that before and the box pops up but there is nothing in the program browser, it's basically just a blank box. So my screen looks exactly like yours but with out any presets in the program browser
It would seem as though I have the samples in the wrong folder, because it looks as though SD just can't access them.

Just to clarify the samples are in - C:/Program Files (x86)/Cakewalk/VstPlugIns/SessionDrummer2/Contents/Kits... etc
Is that right?
