How is Sonar and your synths doing since you upgraded to Windows 10?
I have Sonar Home 6XL 64bit installed. Toying with the idea of upgrading to Windows 10. Has anyone had any issues with Sonar after upgrading to 10? Have all your soft synths worked OK too? (I have some MOTU ones, and some Cakewalk ones).

Nothing has misfired for me since upgrading to Win 10 64bit using SONAR Platinum 64bit.

So far everything has worked for me. I did have to reauthorize AD2 (hard disk authorization) and Valhalla VintageVerb (keyfile which was in my program files folder). Also two programs were disabled because they weren't compatible, and I reinstalled my FireFace drivers. Oh and JBridge complained about permissions but I found I didn't need it anymore anyway because the only two plugs I used it for now have 64-bit version. Other than that, it was completely painless. Kudos. For reference, I have Komplete 9 Ultimate installed, lots of AD2 stuff, a bunch of other 3rd party synths, a Waves bundle, FabFilter bundle and a few singletons.

Only been on W10 for a few days, but so far the experience has been flawless. I did this at the same time as updating my soundcard to an RME one which gave me some problems (related to the USB port rather than the OS). There's a few changes to the UI which will take a bit of learning, but otherwise I'm happy. Some older hardware may not install due to the enhanced driver signing - but again there are workarounds to this if you need them. There's also the general worry about it sending all your activity to MS - you can turn off items that it advertises of course, but it might still track stuff covertly. Doesn't worry me tbh. <EDIT> I'm running a bunch of VST/VSTi including Omnisphere, AAS, Kontakt, Arturia, EZD. Also Waves Gold pack and the Waves SSL 4000. All working good.

Other than a couple of re-authorizations, everything is running better for me with Win10Pro x64 over Win7Pro x64.

Everything I have seems to be working fine under W10, including some ancient ones that predate Win7. Which is what I expected. A plugin, after all, is running within a host application and mostly dependent on the DAW's features rather than the O/S. One possible exception would be a plugin that calls the C++ runtime library - which many do - and depends on an older version to work properly. I've heard of such situations, but never encountered them myself. The C++ runtime is generally backward-compatible.

Hi. I upgraded to Win 10 the day after it came out. And I am very happy that I did. The only issue I have had is a Windows update that screwed my Tascam FW1884 up a bit for a while. Did have to re register AD2 and Melodyne though. Other than that all is well on my end. All the best.

Funny, Melodyne didn't complain for me but AD2 did. But maybe they do like a monthly check, it's only been a few days.

I did an upgrade an there is one issue apart from having to.re-authorise Addictive Drums.
Independence Pro lost its activation. I have yet to resolve this due to no response from their support who need to add a new activation. This reminds me, I must follow up on this.

I did an upgrade as I didn't have the time (or inclination frankly) to go for a completely clean install of everything. Took about an hour including reboots. Omnisphere did require re-activation, but that product is so well supported activation took all of about 30 seconds.

I upgraded first and then did a clean install mainly as I was moving from 32bit to 64bit (upgrade at 32bit to register win10 then clean install of 64) I have had no issues at all, mind you I didn't have much in the way of old hardware to worry about. I did have to delve into it to remove all the user tracking *features* and have not bothered installing any anti virus software opting for standard windows security functionality.
Sonar Platinum - Windows 10 Pro 64bit - AMD FX 8150 processor - 16Gb RAM - 27" Monitor (it's not the size that counts, it's what you do with it)

I did an upgrade. I had no interest in a clean install since it would take me like a week with all the extra software and plugins. I would've stayed on 7 but I read so many good reports on the upgrade process. I have to say I wasn't disappointed.

My reason for upgrading was the programs and files migration also. I think that now it's getting closer to a matter of sooner or later for windows 7 users, which I upgraded from. Ran into the AD drums authorization snafu which was easily remedied by running the AD installer. Go for it !!!

Re-authorization requirements are to be expected for some products when changing to any version of the O/S. That just tells you the O/S version is part of the machine profile used to generate the product's license. I wish they didn't do that, but it's the way of the world now - you are assumed to be a criminal until you prove otherwise. Just be glad those companies' authorization servers are still up and running. I had no such luck when it came to re-authorizing Adobe Audition. Fortunately, Adobe made a version available that didn't require authorization, but I've dealt with other companies that had completely disappeared, making re-authorization impossible.

Well I upgraded just now. Disappointed to find out that both my Edirol UA1ex and UM1ex did not work. :( But by God's grace I found a wesbite that helped me get 8.1 drivers working on Win 10! Amazed and happy to find out that it worked. How to make Edirol Win8 drivers work with Win10 http://johnwarburton.net/blog/?p=25289
