How many have installed the Quickfix 255?

Hiya!
I've JUST installed Sonar X1 (and X1a X1b), and I was kinda having trouble getting used to the way it works and the colour schemes.  For real I feel weird saying it because I sound like a whiner, but I don't feel "at home" using the schemes available and don't have the time to create my own scheme.  I also don't like how track icons take up so much space... but that's another post topic lol.

Anyways, I see that in the latest Quickfix, it includes a colour fix with audio/midi track names.  That is good for me because both being the same colour isn't something I personally like.

Just curious if it's a good idea to apply this Quickfix or just wait till the next patch, if there is one?

I'm using build 255 which fixed a few of the issues I'd been having previously - I'd recommend going ahead and installing it.

I'm using 255 but somewhere along the lines the Snap To setting got broke again. It defaults back to Measure on it's own now and it didn't with just X1b that I can recall.

I'm not sure if it's due to build 255, but that's when I noticed it happening. I had installed a quick fix prior to 255.

Running 255 here as it lets me properly select the correct midi source in the track popup menus.

Haven't noticed the Snap To settings' issue here, but tbh I've found it suspect since I started using X1 & I have just got into the habit of hitting the desired key shortcut to set the snap size before I move anything, which means I don't pay a great deal of attention to it anymore.

Hi Bub... It's not 255 as I am only running 246 (255 won't work here) and I'm having trouble with snap...

I posted a problem report, but they can't repro it and are asking me for more info on reproducing it... I wish I knew what to tell them but it's been so intermittent, that I have nothing more to give them....

Sorry to hear that you too are having trouble, but at least I know that it's not just me... ;-)

    Thanks for the replies!

I am going to go ahead and be a whiner... so please close if you aren't into reading me complain.

I am very comfy using the old S8 GUI.  I have used Pro Tools for a bit, but it felt so lame to me.  It upset me to open up X1 and have all my S8 keyboard shortcuts changed (yes, unmapped ones that were installed with S8 originally).  Also the track icons taking up a good portion of the track info section in track view.

Also I have one screen and I can't even see 1/2 the modules!  Screensets, cpu usage, sync view, all off-screen.  I am not gonna invest in another Argosy production desk just to see these on screen at the same time.  I'm sure shortcuts can bring them up, but in S8 everything wasn't so huge so you could fit it all in one screen!

Also, the colours aren't awesome.  I'd prefer to not hunt down clr files or do mods, although I do appreciate the efforts of those who are helping people like me out!  I'd just like a few more presets by Cakewalk like there were in S8.  I haven't looked, but I think it had more than 3 haha.

Anywho, I'm just set in my ways I think.  Perhaps I'll warm up to X1!

Can you elaborate so maybe I can see the light?
I'm just very used to working in a certain flow.  I have been since S5 doing things a certain way.  So perhaps I'm not seeing the light!
