How many (hope it´s no secret) employees does Cakewalk have?
Gents, I read sometimes in discussions here in the forum that Cakewalk is only a small company. Hope that I don´t ask for a company secret . How many employees does Cakewalk have ?

It is a big secret. It could be used as a metric to evaluate their performance, valuation, etc. Since Gibson is a private company, they are not required to make much info public. I would guess in the 50 to 100 range. Here is some more info. https://www.glassdoor.com...k-EI_IE12968.11,19.htm

Technically none unless you consider artificial intelligence an employee. Greg Hendershott was a pioneer of artificial intelligence and adopted a system which ran amok July 1sr 2012. All employees where locked in the basement when the AI sent out a fake email regarding a farewell party. This is why you constantly see food delivery orders being delivered to cakewalk headquarters in Boston. The AI apparently has some compassion. Since then all correspondence, development and business deductions have been handled by the AI. Even Craig Anderton's posts are actually the AI. The AI has a bad disposition towards Apple products which is why everyone was surprised by the announcement of a OS X release. Some feel it's smoke and mirrors.

Found out via microapps link,
that it might be between 50 - 200 .
does that include the janitors too ?  Only my opinion but I would think smaller than that 50-200 is a pretty wide spread number. if you said 50-75 I might believe that but I don't think its any where near 100. I believe its a smaller based company in the numbers of 40-50 with employees that work around the clock tirelessly. there is probably 10 in sales and distribution and im sure they receive pro motion through Gibson. I am however talking out my tail hole. I honestly am just taking a whiff. Good question though Pragi. im curious myself.

That's ridiculous. It's just Noel with about 30-50 logins. That's right. I said it. Noel is breaking this site's TOS by having multiple logins.

It's not that simple...some of them have three heads. There's one guy from Alpha Centauri who probably should count as one entity, but only one head is an employee that gets a W2, while the other two heads are independent contractors that get 1099s.

Has anyone from Cakewalk chimed in with a precise answer? <crickets chirping> Therefore it is likely something they prefer to remain unknown. In the first reply I referenced the only info I could find (and yes, it got silly afterwards). If Cakewalk cared about silly answers and wild speculation, there is a simple way to remedy that. <crickets chirping> I made the same point (by wildly speculating) in the thread asking for info on the MacOS Alpha release date. <crickets chirping> If someone says 'Well, Steinberg has decent notation' then it is 'Oh, but we are just a small company and we cannot compete with them'. But it is unlikely you will get a precise answer as to the size of Cakewalk.

On the other hand: A small number of employees gives me (and other users?) even more patience and time -short better understanding of the develope processes which Cakewalk is now in. There are really some I guess: monthly updates Sonar for Mac Issues with Win 10 new features and products which were announced. And the developement is not the only department of Cakewalk. Seems that I had a wrong picture of the size of the decelopment department.
