How ro setup a Punchlight Recording Lamp USB with SONAR?
Hi, I have the above mentioned device: http://shop.punchlight.co...aed7de78e466d5b916f656 After aome fiddling, I managed to get it to work with Sequoia and REAPER, but I did not succeed with SONAR X1 yet, although it is compatible according to the specs. It has to be set up as a hardware controller, and it has a HUI and a Mackie Control mode. Does anyone have experience or an idea how to set that gadget up with SONAR?

Do I have set anything special in SONAR to make it send a MIDI message when recording starts?

I'm currently trying to set up the Punchlight relay switchbox USB with Sonar, and so far I haven't gotten it to work. Were you able to make it work? If so, I would like to know what settings you used in the USB utility and in the Sonar DAW software. Best, Vivek

I don't know of this piece of gear, but if it's using the mackie Universal Control, it needs you to setup such in Sonar's controller/surface section... there's a set of buttons on the control bar that will get you there... Where you need to create a controller and adjust it to the necessary settings... I'm not sure what they may be, but I'm wondering how far along this path you've gone? Keni

chuckebaby Patrick with out any specs on your computer nor audio interface I cant even touch this, but I have one set up. I run off off my audio Interface. May I ask: can you briefly describe how you set up the Punchlight system? I purchased the relay switchbox usb ( http://www.punchlight.com/?q=relay_switchbox_usb) and the recording lamp. I installed the Punchlight USB utility and the relay switch box works using that. But I am unable to get it to work using Sonar (currently using 8.3.1 Producer Edition (32-bit) and 8.5 Producer Edition (64-bit). I set up Mackie Control (Generic MC) application mode in the USB utility. In Sonar, I set up a "controller/surface" of Mackie Control using the "USB AUdio Device" for input port and output port. Is there something else I need to do? Perhaps I'm doing something wrong? I asked Cakewalk's tech support, and they said they couldn't help me as they had no experience with (or knowledge of) any Punchlight products. The Punchlight company itself is located in the Czech Republic, and I've e-mailed them but haven't yet heard back. The retailer who sold me the system (RSPE Audio & Video Solutions) has no experience with Sonar and said they can't offer any guidance. If you've set one up successfully, I'd love to know how you did it. Thanks in advance, Vivek

Update: I just got it to work. I simply uninstalled the driver and reinstalled it. Now it seems to be working perfectly, with the same settings I was using before.
