How to: One button midi program-change send to external gear
Hi all, hopefully someone can help out.
My guitar amp can switch channels via midi. (Program change). Midi and DI signal are hooked up to PC.
Now when I'm just jamming along to some drumtracks I want to be able to simply switch from clean to crunch from my PC without having to stand up and go over to the amp. I couldn't find a midi controller function in sonar that would give me something like a one-button click to switch channels.....?? I could programme an event but would have to run a song for that event to trigger?? I'm overlooking something for sure.....
Thanks Mat

Or if you want to create a simple custom gui to switch your external FX you can use the free http://ctrlr.org/

He Rob, thanks for your tip -> Event in Midi clip in Matrix works fine and keeps it all relatively tidy within Sonar. Just had a quick test today. Still have to see if there is a way to save the setup as a preset...
Will try the ctrlr too sometime.
