How to VST MC-style?

Can someone kindly tell me what is the right way to start using VST plugins in MC Pro24? Do I need a Vst "wrapper" or is there just something I don't know?

I thought MCPro had the VST wrapper...maybe I was mistaken?

    Go to windows:
    START>PROGRAM FILES>CAKEWALK>MUSIC CREATOR PRO>VST ADAPTER

if it's not there, then you don't have it. if it's there, then you do.

You would have to buy it separately. It's $39 if you have registered your MC PRO or $59 if you haven't.

Personally, I wouldn't buy it, MC3 is only $29 for download and it comes with the VST adapter, or for $100 you can go to guitar center (and some online stores) and buy a boxed version of SHS4 which has many more features than any of the MC products and it also has the adapter, so it's not worth the cost, IMO.

Beagle I appreciate that a lot.

    What's SHS4, though?

thanks again. One more question though - Kvraudio.com boasts off a hefty list of VST hosts, some of them free. Would there be any way to use one of them in conjunction with MCPro?

Hosts and adapters are different things. MC would be considered a VST host, so if you're thinking about trying to download something from KVR that will allow you to use VST and VSTi's with MC - that's not gonna happen. Sorry.

I chose MC3 over MCPro BECAUSE it had the VST adaptor included. I couldn't rationalize paying more for MCPro and then having to pay about the same amount to add the VST adaptor when I could get it included in the program for only $29. MC3 may not be as capable as MCPro or SHS, but it is enough for me. The forum is nicer too. I stuck my nose in a raging debate over MIDI on one of the Sonar forums and can only say Wow!!! Are people nice here on the MC forum!!!! All of you are great!!!!!!
