How to add swing to a quantized song

Hey guys, I did a project for a client and they love the song but they're requesting a little swing in the beat at certain parts. It's a dance/pop song at 127 bpm. Now the project has been fully tracked and finished so it's not as easy as "just turn quantize off."

Is there any easy way to add just a little swing to the beat without affecting anything too much? It is dance so it can't be too far off the grid.

    Is this Midi? Audio? Both?

    The song as a whole is a combo of audio and midi... actually, the only audio is the vocals. The beat and instruments are all midi.

    I've been trying to figure it out but it seems anything I do to the beat to make it "swing" just kind of makes the music sound a bit off... I hope I'm missing something.

    Have you tried using Groove Quantize?

    I opened it briefly but I'm not sure what settings will work for what I'm after.  After a few attempts, I made a mess of it.

    I've never really used it other than trying a few presets and seeing what they did to the selected notes, but I think if used properly it is exactly what you are looking for. Other than suggesting you read everything in the Help file about it I can't be of much use to you there. I do that sort of thing manually while I write out my parts. It might be a good idea to work on copies of the tracks until you find what works for you if you decide to work with it some more. You could also tweak the Midi notes manually in the PRV. "Swing" usually refers to a dotted eighth note/sixteenth note feel. So the notes on the upbeat would drag a little bit behind the beat. Depending on what's in your Midi tracks this could be simple or time consuming. I wish I could be more help but that's all I got.

    I really appreciate the advice. I rewired reason into the project. I just learned how to use the regroove mixer (it's really cool!) So i regrooved all the percussion stuff and it did add some nice swing/shuffle... so i'm hoping that is enough... i moved around the claps manually and didnt touch the kicks...

    im hoping it gives it the swing feel they were looking for.
