How to add time at the end of a midi file
as the title, for example: there should be 3s after the last note stop I try to use "Insert Time/Measures" but it's impossile. It still stops at the last note, not blank time. Is there any way? http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?921rr3wcevqfm86

I go with Dave's question too. MIDI is data, when there is no more data then there doesn't need to be "blank" data. If the instruments are cutting off abruptly, then add sustain ( drag the note out )

Also there is an option to Play Effects Tails When Stopping so that it doesn't cut off a note before the reverb or echo or whatever effect finishes.

Drag the right hand edge of the clip out in track view to where you want This is the answer. Easy and non-destructive.

daveny5 Why do you need to do that? Midi files are used for playing in a karaoke device. They need a blank time then run a function

I use Sonar 8.5 In Track View you will see your Midi clip. Simply click the right hand edge of the clip and drag it to the right, increasing it's length.

By the way, assume C4 is the last note of all clips, after that note is other KINDs (NRPN/Control .etc). So, Do these Kinds have effect? I think these will affect what behind them

g.man.7489 ll stopped at the last note, not the end of length. If the project is midi only, then play always stops at the end of the last midi note, unless there are any markers further along the timeline. I always add a marker at the end of the project.

Lengthening the MIDI clip should lengthen the playback time of the whole project. Hover your mouse over the right-hand edge of the clip until the mouse cursor changes to a square with an arrow in it, then hold the left button down while dragging to the right. This will stretch the clip without actually altering any MIDI data, and you should be able to add any amount of silence you want. If this doesn't work - and I've never seen it not work - you can always insert a dummy MIDI event via the PRV or the Event List.
