How to change settings on more than one track simultaneously

Wasn't there a way of tying a group of tracks together so that changing settings in one changes the same setting in all?

Sure. The process has changed, for the better, with recent upgrades. Now, multiple-select the tracks in TV or CV That "groups" them. Then, while holding down the CTRL key, make your changes to just about any setting, and they'll change in all the selected tracks, including PC. There is a lot more to this, but that should get you started.
