How to chop audio (disco, funk)

Hello, im new in sonar i have sonar x2 and i wanna know which way is best to chop and make sample and apply new beats from disco or funk songs especially where bpm is not same thru the song. It would be nice if someone can give me full explanation or point to me where to look for some good tut.

    Check out the Sonar videos on Groove 3 (well worth a subscription).
    No doubt there are some videos on youtube as well

    or better yet, just get the super special deal (20$!!!!) for hours and hours of lucid video on how to do everything in X2 and X3 for a newbe or oldy like me...

    This question has a lot of different answers that could be right. Have you done such a style of production with other software or hardware? If you are looking for an mpc approach to such things, you may need a third party solution. There are several good commercial plugins that slice and sample well. A couple free options exist . My cut and paste is not working on my phone or I would post links descri ing several free and commercial products.

    As far as methods within sonar, it is possible. The most straight forward way is to import sample loop, open in loop mode and slice. You can drag the slice to timeline or sample player like cyclone or session drummer 3. You can also slice using audiosnap. Tbeir is a tutorial in the caketv section of site.
