How to compare differnt in box effects to SONAR

This Question is for anyone who uses other DAW and understands the different in box tools and how they translate to SONAR.
If anyone in the forum is actually using SONAR to record and mix heavy music please post, because most of the Heavy online Mixing tutorials use CueBase or ProTools. YouTube is full of good free online tutorials, but you have to translate the different plugins to what SONAR has, or purchase the plugins, when in theory SONAR already has the same if not better included.

Looking for, by way of chart, spreadsheet, etc. on how to use comparable EQ or compressors when learning from online tutorials.
E.g. Following a tutorial for ProTools, it uses SSL, Or CueBase5 NLS, What is the SONAR equivalent?

REQUEST
Mixing in SONAR tutorials for different styles of music (Folk, Classical, Rock, Metal, etc.)
When and Why you would want to use one of the many compressors or LPEQ, ProChannelEQ, or SonitisEQ, for a specific Instrument.
