How to complete a remix on Music Creator LE
I am tried my best to create a remix of my singing with the Karaoke site singsnap recorded on my Cakewalk software, then I ran a single recording alone with same site of the karaoke backtracking , without the mic ,so I could get the best of the soundtrack backing,Now I'm tried to sync these two tracks together as one, but they are not aligned to start together, they are off , so I know Cakewalk has a way, but I can't figure it out, the two need to start together in sync is what I want. Thanks for the help ,if anyone knows cakewalk Creator LE

Welcome to the forum. Just drag one of the tracks so it lines up with the other. Unless you used a USB microphone, in which case there may be synchronization problems that can't be fixed.

You are right on a USB mic , they are the best, I got a samson Mic . I can drag the file to the other, but can't get it to line up at the begining of song, its off all the time.

Now see, my friend in Canada had did these for me, not sure about his software , thing about it, he won't learn me how to create the remix like he does, I guess its a secret. This is his work on the remix, I love the way he wraps the music around my singing. I can't do anything but echo remix, and music sounds bad, when I can't do what he does. heres a few of his work on my songs. Pete did the remix on these. And I want to be able to do this kind of art to mine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZUcQNyLwoU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6FeuBke-XY&feature=related

Greg said the USB mics are problematic (=baaaad), not that they're good. They are one of the biggest problembringers. Your computer sees it as an independent soundcard (like any USB-guitar cable or similar). If you have a proper soundcard to use for recording guitars or MIDI, these two conflict. About lining up the tracks: Turn snap to grid off to be able to position the clip freely.
SONAR PE 8.5.3, Asus P5B, 2,4 Ghz Dual Core, 4 Gb RAM, GF 7300, EMU 1820, Bluetube Pre - Kontakt4, Ozone, Addictive Drums, PSP Mixpack2, Melda Creative Pack, Melodyne Plugin etc. The benefit of being a middle aged amateur is the low number of years of frustration ahead of you.

THe USB mics are OK for other uses, such as one shot recording and podcasting. BUT when you want to record in Cakewalk, there are ALWAYS problems since, as has previously been mentioned, the USB mic is seen as a sound card itself. AND, since the computer also see's the factory sound card, it is actually seeing TWO (2) soundcards, and it is NOT able to sync the timing signals from both, together, properly. That is why the thing you recorded is NOT synced properly to start with. We generally recommend returning the USB mic and getting a nice interface that will work.

Hey that worked on turning the grid off, that thing been on all along. I got in at start, I did this remix by only adding echo and volume increase, and added alittle bass set, but thats all I know, how do go and add better remix of the instruments and all to really improve this mix, or can cakewalk LE able to do this. Heres my results, the music is sounding Yuckie... Ouch at boxnet "Neon Moon" Any thoughts , Thanks Guys http://www.box.net/shared/3nbugjt7m2

you've got a lot of noise on the recorded mic. that could be a lot of things. if you're using that usb mic - get closer to it. did you put the echo in on the vocals? if not that's a problem. probably caused by: re-recording "what you hear" and having the delay because of latency. that's going to be a bit......bit of a problem to fix with the usb mic. if that's the case you CAN turn off the "what you hear" on your soundcard, but the latency will still be there.

Yeal, I added echo to it, maybe I'm just not loud enough, I recorded the music part separate and unplugged the mic, and it recorded it some how, not sure if it took my bose speakers as a mic, hmmmm
