How to copy and paste between projects?

I want to only copy and paste a part of the song/project into a new project with all the effects and v-vocals. When I select all the tracks, select the part of the project I want to copy and paste by click and drag on the time ruler the go to the new project and paste, the timing is all a mess. Some tracks (e.g trumpet) are to early some are late etc....
 
This is sonar 8.5. I do however have X1C.

    make sure your snap to grid settings, tempo and time signatures are all the same in both projects or you will have problems with timing when you copy and paste between projects.
