How to debug midi note flow?

I'm using Sonar X3.  I have an instrument track and a MIDI clip that I think should be set up properly.  (I'm using Rapture...)

When I playback the midi clip I hear nothing.  If I view the same track/clip in PRV and click on individual note I hear them.  I know that they are being played by the soft synth associated with the track because the timbre tracks the preset I have selected in the soft synth.  If I play my midi controller, I also hear audio from the soft synth.

So it is as if no midi notes are being sent to the soft synth during playback.  The track is not solo'd.

Any ideas?
Thanks

Perhaps the recorded midi events are on a channel other than '1', which is probably the default channel for your keyboard and rapture. If so, the quickest way to correct this would be to change the output channel number in the track header to '1', not "omni" or "none".
