you don't need EZD to edit the MIDI drum track. it doesn't matter what your synth output is for the MIDI track as far as editing is concerned. just open the PRV (piano roll view) for that MIDI track and use the smart tool to edit the notes.

I got it.but its not quite satisfactory.because with ezdrummer all you need to do is change the sound to whatever preset you like.plus i play heavy metal so its really helpful

all you need to do is have your midi data in a midi track not in ez drummer. then double click on the track..it opens piano roll. do all your editing and copy/paste saves time..alot of time. or right click on your midi and select-change to step sequencer. for metal heads like yourself and i. sometimes the step sequencer is easier to work with. when your done just right click on the midi track and select-bounce to clips. this will bring it back to its original midi format. but the piano roll is where its at man.learn the piano roll and you will rule the sonar world.

Everyone has missed his point. .how can modify its sound n stuff like that using ezdrummer? He wants to know how to change the sound, not the MIDI. laiho11, to change sounds you either need to purchase other EZDrummer expansion packs (i.e. MetalHeads or DKFH if you're doing metal). Install those and then load the appropriate kit. at Audiodeluxe.com they are having a sale. Three EZDrummer expansion packs for $79. That is a steal. You might consider picking up Metal Machine, Drum Kit From Hell and Metal Heads. You will be very pleased with those kits for metal.

everyone to each thier own, cause i read what you wrote thinking the same thing..that you must have mis understood..this is what i read first his quote: "however i am not able to figure out how to edit an existing midi drum track with ezdrummer which is most important to me right now" we all know what editing a midi track is. when he says sound,i figured his lingo was off and he ment different parts. so are we missing the point? hmmmm...we will see. :) if he comes back

chuckebaby we all know what editing a midi track is. when he says sound,i figured his lingo was off and he ment different parts. As you said to each his own. Back when I gave training courses I was taught to never "assume" the students "know" what the teacher knows. And, in post three he admitted he was "new" to this stuff. I'm not sure about any of you but when I was new to this stuff I many times used wrong terminology (because I was new). As you say, we'll see if any of actually hit the proper topic.
