How to edit one drum note through out complete MIDI sequence?
I need to change the snare drum in one of my MIDI sequences to a different drum. How can I make a global edit like this in Sonar X3 Studio? thanks tdehan

If I understand your question correctly: click that line in the keyboard on the left of the piano roll so all the notes are highlighted on that line and drag one of the notes to the new line where the required drum is, all will follow.

If you want to change the snare for example to a different snare, you do that in your drum synth. If you want to change the snare to say, a sidestick and you have a pad assigned to side stick, then you can click on the midi note for the snare highlight them and drag them up or down to the right note.

Where is the first snare drum coming from? As in what plugin/sound module and what midi note? Where is the snare drum you want to use coming from (what plugin/sound module and what midi note)?
If gear was the determining factor, we would all have a shelf full of Grammies and a pocket full of change. -microapp i7, 32gb RAM, Win10 64bit, RME UFX

Also the Find/Replace function is pretty powerful. Check into it.

I must be doing something wrong as this doesn't work. I click on the Note Number on the left, it turns all the notes on that line black. However, I am not able to drag them with the mouse or do anything with them.

When you hover over one of the notes, your smart tool should change to a cross, which is the move tool. Is it doing that? You should then be able to grab that note with a left click of the mouse (held down) and pull it and all its highlighted companions to another drum line, holding down Shift as you do so which stops any accidental lateral movement.
