You can encode them down with a program called DVD fab. You will have a choice to convert or save as 3D. They have a free 30 day trial. I've been using it for a few years to store 3D movies on my HD, HD3D movies play a bit better from the HD. Not sure you you'd be interested in watching them on 3D on the laptop, but just so you know. You can play 3D movies on any monitor in anaglyph (red and blue glasses) if your laptop has a blue ray player, all you need is Cyberlink power DVD and a pair of red and blues
