How to explain? View and console buttons goofing up…

I don't know if this is something I'm not setting right or a big...
When I hit the console view button from the custom button area I get horizontal split with track view. When I then hit Track view nothing happens. Then I have to click on the double down arrow on the right to bring up track view and the console view stays split.
Still no function from the custom buttons but double clicking the console tab will alternate between the split console view and the normal console view.
If I play with the screens for a while I can get the console view and the track view to toggle using the Console tab..  I like that.. but something is just not right here…
Win 10Pro and Win 8.1

I don't know if I completely understand your question but try hitting the 'd' key. That should show and hide the multi-dock view with the console in it.

Yes, it's the Multi Dock. (I had no idea) That's the problem.
IMO: It's more of a showcase feature that's just in the way... lol

Thanks for the help. Now to get rid of it... ???

There are plenty of users who absolutely love what the Multidock is capable of, me included.
For sake of balance, there are a much smaller group of users who either really dislike it or want it removed altogether. I suspect more than in at least a few of these cases it's down to them not configuring it properly or not willing to learn the necessary keyboard shortcuts to take advantage of it's capabilities

I can dig that... who knew? not me... As far as learning hot keys, I wish! But when you only have one working hand it's just faster to use the mouse... though there are times when I use a few hot keys when recording myself...

Peace!
