How to find and clear MIDI messages

I have a midi file, but only want to keep the notes. I have the midi clip inserted in an instrument reack running a synth. The problem is that, each time I hit play, the synth patch reverts back to the default. I'm thinking there is some sort of midi message that does that?

How can I clear everything except for the notes? I tried copying and pasting notes, but Sonar just copies clips, including the controller messages.

    I'm still on Sonar 7 but you could try Edit/Select/By Filter... It should give you the options to only select what you need. I think if you uncheck sysxdata or sysxbank one of them should do the trick.

    Go into the Events View and press the delete key on any program changes there that you don't want.
