How to get "pause" to work when using Novation ReMOTE SL?

There doesn't seem to be anyway to get "pause" to work when using the transport control buttons on the ReMOTE SL in Sonar. If I press the play button twice, it doesn't do anything and keeps on playing. If I press the stop button, the cursor jumps back to the beginning instead of stopping at where the cursor was when I pressed stop. How can I actually get a "pause" to work? I can do this with other controllers, but not the ReMOTE SL, and I'm not sure now to customize this, since Automap doesn't let you customize the transport buttons.

    Two things:

    1. Sonar can't pause. It can only stop. The Pause button on your ReMOTE is sort-of redundant for the Sonar transport, but maybe you could map it to do something else.

    2. When Sonar stops, you can decide if you want the cursor to stay where you stopped, or you can make it return to where you started playback, which is the default setting.

To change it, read this part of your manual:
"[Track view] Options > On Stop, Rewind to Now
    Marker
When this check box is enabled, the Now Time jumps back to the Now Time Marker whenever
    playback stops."

This is an option in your track view, so you can choose if you want the cursor to remain where you stopped, or jump back to where playback started from.

    I hope this helps you.

Plazma, Sonar can pause, as it's working fine here with my Oxygen 8 v2 & it's transport buttons.

Pressing the play button on the Oxy, once the transport is running, stops it and if I press play again it resumes from where it was.

If I press the stop button, then the transport stops & returns to where the play marker was originally.

My " Options > On Stop, Rewind to Now " is set to off, so it seems that this option applies when you're using Sonars' on-screen transport buttons or keyboard shortcuts & isn't relevant when using hardware transport controls.

Lunatique, have you taken a look at the Novation forums to see if anyone there has a solution ? :

The other option to try would be to use ACT as as the controller / surfaces option rather than the Automap entry & see if you can map the transport buttons to the ' play/pause ' and ' stop with now marker ' options available ?

I have tried your suggestions including contacting Novation, and Novation has provided a workaround the involves custome QWERTY key-binding with Automap Pro for one of the non-transport buttons (transort buttons cannot be customized in automap). It worked, and that's what I'm using at the moment. Thanks for the help!
