Thank you for your replies. The reason I kept faulty track for so long is that I have so much going on in the song- I can not hear Bass at all, and I definitely can not hear Hum unless it is soloed. However, I know that the hum is taking a lot of headroom from other synths, and my mix would breath and sound better if it was not poluted with hum. I could replace hum with another synth- that loud it is, but it is not cuting trough distorted guitars- it just makes it harder to hear what guitars playing. Now that I EQed it to the ground, hum is very low, but so is bass, and after using Boost on it, hum is back. What is the best way to post the .wav file to the forum? I do not have any soundcloud set up. It is 6 minutes song, it would be large file without compression.

Just go to www.wetransfer.com and add your file. Give the from and to email address as your own email. After upload you will then be emailed a short URL which you can copy/paste in the forums. Cheers...

I don't use Dropbox here's why. 1) I don't have to signup 2) I don't need to install bloatware. 3) If I install the bloatware I don't want all my "My Documents" files automatically uploaded which can easily happen if you aren't careful in installing. 4) I don't any third party upload app have access to my files. 5) I don't want dropbox client slowing down my PC (just like Gobbler doing this either so I don't use it) 6) Dropbox is very good at pushing their client at non dropbox customers, forcing some people to have to install the client, in some instances people just won't install dropbox for the file (I am one of them). Yes I know you can supply links nowadays.. 7) With wetransfer I just need to point to a file, and type in my email address twice. That is all. 8) Wetransfer will automatically delete my file after a few weeks. 9) Wetransfer is simple and non confusing, even for the non technical. Well there you go, clearly an advert for weTransfer.

Hi, Alex. Actually you do not have to install the Dropbox software at all. You can use their online uploader. It works more or less like Photobucket's uploader. Just click the Upload button and an Explorer window opens. Choose the file and begin the upload. I too was turned off by their software but quickly figured out it was unnecessary. Another option is if you have a gmail/google account I think their Gdrive feature would work but I haven't tried it yet. You can pretty much do anything with a google account these days. I even sent some faxes through gmail recently. I did have to start an account at one of their affiliates though but their fax thingie integrates into your account... particularly the Gdrive section.

Here's how I might approach this problem. 1) of course I would want to try and clean up the track to try to salvage what I could. Lots of really good products out there. But on the cheap, Reafir is a good free plug for this problem. Not overly sophisticated, but work well. Some hums are so embedded that removing them leaves the track affected with thinness and/or artifacts. So, step 2 for me as well. 2) If you can get the track cleaner but not quite good enough to feature like normal. Reinforcing with a Bass vst could help. And/or using Melodyne to convert the audio to midi notes works decent after some tweaking. Or, since I can also play bass, I would consider recording a supporting bass track to accompany the original and put my mixing gloves on.

vladasyn Hey, guys! The bass player recorded a track and it has very loud distinctive mid-range hum from the cable or pick ups- it some time is louder than the bass sound. I ignored it then because the bass player did not have another instrument and I wanted to have it done, but now- it sounds horrible- don't know what I was thinking. Is there any plugin that would treat it? I do not have any extras for Sonar X3, only effects that came with producer version and I have Komplete 9 Ultimate. But what do you use to get rid of such issue- the EQ? Thank you.
Hi, If you have the hum signal isolated without the bass-signal,copy it on another track, turn the phase (possible via track view), solo the original bass track and then the hum track, now you can turn the volume of the hum track till the hum is nearly or full disappearing, hopefully not much more. If this works on a small peace of the bass track, copy the peace of the hum track till it´s as long as the bass track is (eventually automation for the volume of the hum ?), then bounce both tracks to one track. I tried this for eliminating noises on voc- and guitar tracks, hope/think this helps also on bass tracks, if not ,please write it here, Pragi

I meant I would re-cut the track myself so it wouldn't matter if the player were around; but I understand if that is not something you would feel confortable doing. Best of luck with this. I am sure it is frustrating.
