How to import audio to measure 1? Now Time doesn't seem to work for me

When I import audio tracks to sonar X1, the file drops way ahead, like at measure 3000 plus for some reason. I read that the "now time" needs to be at the measure one wants, but even though the green little flag is sitting at 0, or 1 or whatever I set it to, it seems to drop the file way ahead. Thanks Ahead!!!

The audio tracks are likely Broadcast Wave Files with time stamps. Go Preferences > File > Audio Data, and uncheck "Always Import Broadcast Waves at their Timestamp."

The first 3 books in "The Musician's Guide to Home Recording" series are available from Hal Leonard and http://www.reverb.com. Listen to my music on http://www.YouTube.com/thecraiganderton, and visit http://www.craiganderton.com. Thanks!

Oh, so that is what causes audio clips to land far away from time line. What about midi clips, sometimes they land far away from time line or intended place too?

Windows 10/64, Intel i7 Xeon X6575 3,07GHz, 24Gb RAM, chipset: Intel X58 Express, Kingston SSD 240Gb,  Sonar Platinum , Edirol UA-25.  (Some extra VSTs: PSP almost all/  IK - AT4, ST3, / AAS - all/ TH3 full/ +10dB/ Melodyne Editor). EVE sc205 monitors, Defil Kosmos guitar, blue lava lamp, ashtray.  And there is some great music you may find at: https://soundcloud.com/pawel-jan-1

I've never had a midi clip do that? There's no information in a midi clip that denotes measure.

I find that as I drag and drop the clip will show where it will be so I slide it in place first before I let go.

I remember that this was a common problem for a few years in the SONAR editions X1 - X3. Imported wavfiles are sometimes found at measure 20.000 or elsewhere - without any rule. This files were not time-stamped. No matter if they are imported or dragged and dropped out of the windows explorer. It was not repeatable.
Since Sonar Platinum the problem no longer occurs. The file is imported where it was dragged and dropped.

We digitize tapes, vinyl, dat, md ... in broadcast and studio quality for publishers, public institutions and individuals.
4 x Intel Quad-CPU, 4GHz Sonar Platinum (Windows 10 - 64Bit) and 14 computers for recording tapes, vinyl ...

4 x RME Fireface 800, 2 x Roland Octa Capture and 4 x Roland Quad Capture, Focusrite .... Studer A80, RP99, EMT948 ...

AH yes X1 say no more.. Hey there Humble P.. you better take up the upgrade offer it's ending this week. Very foolish not to and then expect to complain. Half price and even Professional would blow away X1 10x over.
