How to insert a partial measure

Hi people smarter than me !  I'm trying to insert a quarter measure into a song across all tracks.  I know how to insert a measure, etc. but cannot figure out how to insert only part of a measure... a quarter measure or 1 beat in 4/4 time inthis case.  I tried inserting a tick but that only seems to insert a tiny space way less than one beat.

Appreciate all thoughts and tips.

you might be better off selecting all tracks, click "S" short cut (to split all clips)
then drag all clips to the right over a 1/4.

I have a feeling this might have to do with Delete whole (though I could be wrong)

Insert 960 ticks. This equals 1/4 note unless you have it set differently in Preferences/Project/Clock.

Cheers, Peter.

You need to do 2 things;

  1. Ctrl +a > Project Insert Time/Measures > 960 ticks
  2. This is not easy to put into words: At the front of the gap that you have just opened up, insert a new time signature of 5/4. Then, at the end of the gap, insert new Time Sig of 4/4
This is assuming your project is in 4/4 and you insert on a bar measure. Obviously you'll have to adjust what I said above to account for this.

It is not clear if you are trying this in notation or with audio. Are you trying to set up an anacrusis in notation?
