How to install 6.0/6.02 on new machine

I've set up a new CLEAN computer with Windows XP Professional. At the moment it has NOTHING else on it. I have SONAR 6.0 (DVD from Cakewalk) and the 6.02 update patch downloaded from Cakewalk. How should I go about installation? After I install the 6.0, should I immediately install 6.02? Is it safe to launch 6.0 first and play around with it a bit and THEN install the update. I know there is an issue with Vista, but I'm using Windows XP Professional and I'm the only account on the machine.

Thank you for any and all help/suggestions.

Man I would just go ahead and do the install of 6.2 and not open 6.0.

From my own experience after just doing a fresh install last week. Don't open 6.0. Install 6.2 and then run the program. Let it do its thing with moving files and it should work quite well.

I'm really confused. You mean the 6.02 update file I downloaded is a COMPLETE install? Everything included (soft synths, etc) in the 6.0 DVD I got from Cakewalk is included in the 6.02 Update? I thought that "updates" just updated certain files of a previous install. So I would just launch the 6.02 file I downloaded and use the serial number from my 6.0 package?

    Thanks!!

Install the SONAR 6.0 from DVD then apply the 6.2 patch, then launch the program.

BTW, there was no 6.02 patch made available to the general public just 6.0.1 and 6.2.

    Yes, sorry. I meant 6.2

Thanks. I had a feeling that 6.2 was an "upgrade"... not a complete package. In any case, it can't hurt to install one then the other, right. It's just that I have a great machine that's completely empty except for XP Professional and I want to create as little "clutter" as I can so that it concentrates on nothing but SONAR.

    Thanks, scook
