How to install TTS-1
I rebuilt my sonar 8.5.3 (32 bit) on my laptop a while ago and I just noticed that the TTS-1 softsynth is not installed as an active plugin. The folder and the DLL are there, though. How do you install it? I can't seem to find any instructions or threads that cover this. Thanks in advance, Kevin

Open a DOS window and type regsvr32 "c:\program files\cakewalk\shared dxi\tts-1\tts-1.dll" Include the quotes.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

Thanks, that worked! I just had to run "cmd.exe" in the Run As Administrator mode. I am using a windows 7 laptop.

Bitflipper - I too am using 8.5.3. Is there any way to set up TTS-1 as the default synth in Sonar, so I don't have to "Insert Synth" every time? (I've searched, but no answer) Thanks, Bob

Create a project template with TTS-1 already added. Then select that project template when creating new projects. You can even rename the existing normal project and name the new one Normal.cwt in your project templates folder and it will be the default when creating new projects.

Don't know what i'm doing wrong, but it's not saving the TTS-1 in the template. Rats.

Control-N to create a new Project Add TTS-1 to the project Save As tts-1.cwt (you can name it anything with a .cwt extension) with "Save as type" set to template and Go to Folder" set as "Template Files (CWT,TPL)"

Still not working. I did this: Opened a new file. Inserted 5 MIDI tracks. Inserted TTS-1 Selected all, assigned TTS-1 to MIDI tracks. Saved as .cwt. in Template folder. When I close and re-open, the synth is not there.

There is no need to select anything when you save a project template. Are you saving not only with the .cwt extension but setting "Save as type" to "template" also? When you close and re-open what are you closing and re-opening? If you want this template to automatically open when you start Sonar with the "On Startup Load Normal Template" set in preferences or Ctrl-N, you must save the template as Normal.cwt. I would recommend renaming the original Normal.cwt first so you can get it back if you ever need it.

Man. I've got everything totally screwed up now! Best laid plans I guess. Now when I open a new file, I get a blank template!

Assuming you followed my advice, you can get the normal template back by copying it back to it's original name.
