How to keep track automation when deleting take

I have a track with read automation for volume. The audio is split over multiple recordings. I want to do a new recording for one part, but when I delete the old take Sonar also deletes all automation nodes that occur during it. How do I delete the take only without affecting the track automation?

Hi, and welcome to this forum. You could try to cut / paste special https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR%20X2&language=4&help=Arranging.17.html
This would give you the option to select what to delete / cut.
    Hope it helps.
    All the best.

In addition to Cut Special, I think either of these will also work:

Shift+click the clip to change the track's Edit Filter to Clips which will restrict the selection.

    OR

Show lanes (Shift+T) and select clips there.

Thanks for the quick and helpful replies! Cut Special works, as does selecting the clip in the take lane. No luck with Shift+click, that still selects the clip and the automation. But I've found out that I can select the clip and then deselect individual automation lanes with Ctrl+click on the highlighted area left of the lane name.

And another way to delete selected clips without the automation is to uncheck:
    "Select Track Envelopes with Clips"
    in Track View>Options
