How to map tempo increments/decrements

Hi, Does anybody know how to map in my control surface (an Akai APC 40) a button to increase the tempo, and another one to decrease it?

As there's no template for Akai APC 40, I'm mapping it from scratch using a "generic surface", and the rest of the controls which are not configurable from here (like the master slider), are being mapped acting directly over the button/slider via ACT and the "learn" function.

Problem is. How to map tempo increment / decrements.

I've been looking in the "Key mappings" menu, in the "generic surface menu", and right clicking in the controls in the transport control (where the "+" a "-" buttons are), but there's no way.

I don't think that's possible, and that's why you're not finding it in the menus.  Maybe I'm wrong - If someone comes up with an answer that it Is possible, that'd be cool.

The only effective place to really work on tempo is in tempo view. Maybe you can find something to map to in there.

Keep in mind that SONAR's tempo mapping uses a step system rather than a taper.

You can sort of mess with your tempo on the control bar... but it is really easy to make a mess.

SONAR a.k.a. Cakewalk, and Cakewalk Pro Audio, as a sequencer has been handicapped by it's clutzy tempo tools since day one.

It's one of the tools many people have waited nearly 20 years to see some improvement too.

    Good luck.

    Wow,

    That's a really bad new

I hoped I could map tempo inc/dec at least to a couple of buttons in my surface, and desirably to a knob in order to inc/dec the tempo online (whilst playing the song) in a really comfortable way.

I'm a programmer, and I think this is a minor issue. The hard work has already be done. I cannot believe why this is not possible.

Some other DAWs have some really good methodologies that Cakewalk could flatter/steal but after 20 years Cakewalk has et to consider it a priority.

We do have a nifty feature called Groove Quantize. It can take a nice track and mess it up so it sounds like a drunken musician.

You can read all about it on page 1346.

    Good luck.

    best regards,
