How to play Dimension Pro using Microhost?

Hello,

I just installed Dimension Pro microhost (available here: http://rgcblog.com/extern...sion_Pro_Microhost.zip you install it by adding .exe file to Dim Pro folder, so, it recognises the synth .dll. I found this download URL at Cakewalk Dimension Pro support page).

My major application would be to run microhost to explore tons of sounds I have with a number of Dimension expansion packs, with no Sonar opened. I would prefer a MIDI file playback but keyboard play would be also helpful. I thought such a setup would allow me to save system resources for other day time work PC activities (music is my hobby)

Will appreciate your feedback on how to do it.

Why I love Sonar?

No longer impressed by Alan Parsons/Led Zeppelin tone. With tools from Cakewalk I can make more impressive sound. Should I compete? No.

I use SAVIHost by H Seib for this purpose. Just put it into the same folder as the .dll you wish to activate and rename the .exe file with the same name as the dll.

    Example:

    in the Cakewalk/vstplugins/dimension pro directory
    Original file name savihost.exe
    Renamed to Dimension Pro.exe

Run the Dimension Pro.exe and you have Dimension pro loaded with a playable keyboard

Thanks for your suggestion of Savihost, Fred Holmes!

I also found that Dim pro Microhost reacts on some PC keyboard keys strikes.

I tested both and would prefer to add a MIDI file playback. In a meanwhile I tried this with Music Creator 5, that I also often use
