How to ripen bananas faster [SOLVED]

I have green bananas I purchased yesterday for 79 cents a pound.

They are green.

Tell me how to make them yellow more faster so I can eat them today or earlier tomorrow

Please and thank you

A brown paper bag works for peaches... Might work for bananas?  I do know that if you have a bowl full of green bananas, plus one overly ripe banana, the green ones will be ready in a day.

A prolonged staring session will do the trick. It's critical that your eyes never leave the bananas. No bathroom breaks, no tv, pc, nothing. You must stare at them for 22 1/2 hours straight. Then they will be ready.

Why'd they pick so much green fruit?

Leave 'em in a fruit bowl in a sunny spot indoors is about the quickest method I've found.

They never taste right if they've been ripened off the tree though.

I've heard something about the brown bag method mentioned in #4 that will ripen them up quickly since it captures the gas they give off as they ripen and holds it in.

We used to let them lay on the counter and they seemed to get ripe pretty fast that way too. So much so that we sometimes had to throw the last ones out since they would ripen too fast.

My wife heard about hanging them from a stand. It was claimed the bananas would not ripen so fast since the gas they emit as they ripen would fall away and not cause the typical "snowball effect" on the others.

We've been hanging the fruit now for about 3 months and it does seem to prolong the usable life of the fruit on our counter by quite a few days. Previously we used to by them in bunches of 3 or 4, but now it's not a problem to get 5 to 8 in a bunch.

When I was growing up, my grandparents had a coconut & mango estate in which they always tried to keep the fruits from ripening too quickly (usually by keeping them in dark cold places).
Ripening them quickly is probably best left to let it take it's natural course.
