How to send Groove Clip Pitch Info via MIDI (eg to load DR-880)

I'm using a Boss DR-880 drum machine to accompany me when I play live.  I'd like to use its "Chord Progression" feature to track the key I'm currently playing in (so that I don't get lost where I'm at in a song). I'd prefer to use Sonar to record and edit my drums and bass parts via MIDI keyboard, then send this MIDI info from Sonar back to the DR-880 for playback later. This could really speed up my work flow.  I'd like to send the Groove Clips Pitch that I've set up in Sonar and send this info back to the DR-880 so that it will keep track of what key I'm playing in.

Is anyone aware how to do this?

Richard.

I read the manual for the Boss DR-880 and I didn't see anything there that explained how to change chords with Midi. Have you tried asking this question in a Roland forum? Because the answer will be related to what Midi messages the device can implement from an external device.

And even then I am not aware of Groove clips sending any kind of Midi info. If you are using the Boss device by itself you should be able to program the chord changes in manually, at least that is my understanding of what I read.
