I read this Sound On Sound Magazine article a few years ago which has helped me properly gain stage. I suggest you and others read it as well for the proper procedures for gain staging. I still have that issue of the SOS magazine and I am still a subscriber as a lot of you all should be as well. Read the article titled, Gain Staging In Your Daw Software
