Did I get it right that I need at least SONAR HOME STUDIO? Did I get it right that with SONAR LE I am not able to create anything? THX for any answers. E.T.

Welcome. You can use SONAR LE. It will record, mix and export. However it is a "lite edition" meaning it doesn't have nearly all the tools the full versions have AND it's really old now. Good news though, Cakewalk was bought by a company called Bandlab a little while ago and they are distributing the current version of SONAR for free. So YES you can use LE but you might as well just download the free Bandlab version which is based on the latest release of SONAR. https://www.bandlab.com/products/cakewalk/whats-new Now I have a question for the other guys who may or may not have been paying more attention than I have been able to as of late... I notice that SONAR is still (or again) being sold in the Cakewalk Store. Did I miss something?

No, it's just that you can still go through the motions at the Cakewalk Store until you click 'buy now', then you go to the announcement page where it says Sonar is defunct. About time they got that website sorted really, and this forum.

Ah, thanks. I figured it might be something like that. Cheers!

It's been a rough year for ole Beeps. Essentially reduced to minimal movement due to lack of doctorb supervision. FINALLY I have some reasonable access to medical professionals again though. It took a trip to the hospital to shake things loose and by kismet, karma, entropy smiling on me, etc the ER doc told me of a clinic that was opening up LITERALLY the next day to which I am now a registered patient of. Bonus Points: It is right around the corner from me so if there ain't snow on the ground I can use the gimpmobile to roll my arse down there sans busses or other annoying shenanigans. It's gonna take some work for me to get back up to "fighting" strength again but I seem to be improving already. It has also allowed me time to rest, contemplate and review that little opus I've been rattling about for so long. It's been helpful taking my ears off it for a bit but extremely annoying I haven't been able to actually WORK on it. Stoopid gimp arse body. Anyhoo... I've missed blathering at ya'll.

Well even typing that hurt a bit and I gotta get down to said clinic early tamale so I'll continue easing up on the diatribes until such a time as I can unleash with my usual vigor and (over) verbosity. However... to paraphrase The Governator... I shall return.

I'm trapped in more of a Bone/Gristle cage. The nice thing about that is I'd be the last one everyone would eat in an emergency and then they'd only have nasty soup bones. Except since I was the last one eaten I'd be eating myself... and that's just gross.

Here is a link to a series of tutorials on youtube on how to use SONAR... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TR1DLE2UIfM They are showing/using an older version of SONAR but most of the functions are the same. It is in English but hopefully just seeing what is being done on screen (by Karl Rose who is a forum member here) might help you figure things out. Some things may be different though. In that case make sure you download the manual so if something isn't working or is different you can look up the new way. Cheers and good luck.
