How to: take a midi clip and spread its info over several track?

Hi guys,

If midi clip X, is a clipped filled with information, to trigger a kit in Session Drummer, how can I split that clip, so I have multiple clips, triggering my drums on totally different tracks?

X = hi hats, kick, and snares..

and I want

x= kick
y = hi hats,
z = snares

All on separate tracks.

This question is basically because, the drum beat was programmed using the step sequencer.  Thanks...

    There is a CAL script called "Split to Tracks" (AFAIR) that does what you want.  Breaks each MIDI note out to seperate tracks.

    Brian's right about the CAL script but you can also use the Session Drummers mixer to output each drum onto its own audio track for processing if you prefer.

    I've never seen much point in splitting the MIDI track to separate tracks, it always makes editing a nightmare for me. YMMV of course.

    Yeah..  I hear you.  I suppose I should actually freeze the session drummer and arrange the audio.  the drummer is definitely output to all of its tracks......

    Thanks guys

    Before drum maps and multi-output soft synths, this was kind of the only way to do it. Especially helpful in the days of running the MIDI out to several hardware units (still might be!)
