How to 'unselect' MIDI notes in Piano Roll View?
Someone might be able to save me a lot of time ploughing through Sonar's (or EZdrummer's) help pages by explaining a phenomenon I don't understand.
I have a Sonar drum map which gives me a Piano Roll View of the MIDI drum track, wherein each MIDI note/track is listed with the name of the drum which the notes on that track play. Great!
Sometimes, I like to see what happens if I tweak something in the MIDI drum track after I've added and edited the EZdrummer patterns, e.g. drag all the hi-hat notes for the entire song from Tight Tip to Closed Tip, and this is where the problem arises.
All too often, having used click-drag to surround and select the notes I want to move, I can see that other seemingly unrelated notes on another track in the PRV (often way down the list and many song bars away, so it's not that I'm accidentally selecting them during the click-drag process) have also become highlighted as part of the selection.
Sure enough, if I then move the notes I want to move, the notes I didn't actively select are moved correspondingly. I don't necessarily need to understand why the undesired selection is occurring, but is there an easy way to break the connection, the way one can use the 'Remove selected clips from group' feature with audio data?
