How to untie notes in the Staff view?

Hi
Sorry, but I don't seem to find this information anywhere.
If I create a long note by the measure border, it's automatically split into two notes with a tie in Sonar. Great.
But when I move that note back to a location where it fits inside measure, it won't change back to being just one note. Also, sometimes those extra ties just come up inside the measures as well. At the end I tend to end up with just about every note being in several parts, which makes the notation incredibly hard to read. Is there a feature to untie notes, returning them back to being just one note?

And if there isn't, how's about adding such a feature, or making it be so, that notes by default are in just one piece?

Best, V

If I follow you correctly, the first note of the tied note is too long, hence even if you change the start time of the second note, it's still tied as the first note overlaps the second.

    Try 'trim duration'.

The opposite of the above is all the notes look like 32nd notes with a lot of rests.
If this is the case, use the tool 'fill duration'.

For individual notes you could open also the note dialogue box and shorten the actual note length number.

    Hi Tunerman!

Thank you for the ideas. But no, that's not quite it.
See, there's only one note for real (at the piano roll side). The two notes with a tie are just a presentation fabricated by Sonar. And the point is, even if the note is short enough to fit, it will still be displayed as two notes.

Actually I had already found the page that you pointed out. And unfortunately setting or unsetting fill durations or trim durations won't help.

Thank you for the try, anyway.
