How to use Reaktor Vocoder with Sonar?

Does anyone here know how to use Reaktor's vocoder within Sonar? I'd like to be able to use the vocoder with pre-existing audio and midi files for the carrier and modulator.

    Here's the step by step

    1. Record your audio on track one.
    2. Insert Reaktor as an instrument (not an effect) in the f/x bin of track one.
    3. Select the vocoder from the ensemble list within Reaktor
    4. Creat a midi track
    5. select Reaktor as the output in the midi track
    6. record some notes or chords in the midi track
    7. This then, vocodes, the audio track to which Reaktor is a plugin

    Hope this helps

    Kind Regards:
    Eric

Thanks, Eric. I'll need to learn how to insert something as an instrument rather than an effect in the FX bin, but I can't imagine that's terribly hard!

    you're welcome guys...

aaronk...if you right click on the fx bin of the audio track...you'll get a pop up menu with the choices of "effects" or "instruments"...Reaktor is listed under both headings...however, choose it from "instruments"...if you do it as an effect...when you go to the midi track it won't be listed as an output, if Reaktor has been loaded as an effect...if it's loaded as an instrument...it then appears as a possible output in the midi track.

    Eric

Thanks for the clear explanation, Eric. I tried this over the weekend and it worked just fine. Now I also finally understand why Sonar gives the option of inserting instruments rather than effects in the FX bin in the first place!

    Hello,

My name is Damien, been using Sonar X2 for a couple of years, been tracking my entire life :)
I can't, for the life of me, get Reaktor to show up as an instrument, or soft synth. My VST file paths are all correct, I've reinstalled Reaktor on my system 3 times (version 5.9), and everything looks good, from a configuration perspective. However, Sonar DOESrecognize the FX related DLL's (ReaktorFX*.dll), but DOES NOT recognize the instrument related one, which I assume is Reaktor5.dll.

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me get this figured out! Any feedback would be awesome, and hope that everyone is doing well today.

    Damien
