How to use them? - preset (fxp), program (prog) and bank (fxb) in Rapture

I know this may seem as a real dumb question, but I haven't get my head around it really.

I have just recently started to program my own sounds in Rapture

However...
Lets say I want to save a sound I tweaked, in what format should I save this??
The Rapture manual tells me to save it as a program, and so I did. The sounds in browser mode is in *.prog format.

My confusion is related to that I also have the option to load and save *.fxb and *.fxp files (under VST ikon in Rapture).

I understand that *.fxb is bank, *.fxp is presets but am not sure where and how to use them. As I understand *fxb can be presets for many different kinds of instruments, but for example a *.fxp for Rapture work with Z3TA +2

I would be very thankful if someone could explain how the files are related and how to use them:)

Thanks!

I have often wondered the same thing but never tried to import one into the other. I know dimension, rapture and a couple of other Cakewalk synths use the same sample format and share sfz files. since z3ta is not sample based (not counting the wace cylces), I can't imagine the programs would work. Only one way to find out........

    Thanks for your input.

I have just realised that the "VST" button that give the option to load/save fxb/fxp in Rapture and Dim Pro only are available when Im in Sonar X1, not in standalone mode. I guess this is related to be able to open presets and programs from any VSTi.

I know that the fxb/fxp format are common for several VSTi.

    Well well
