How was it?
Morning all, how were your Christmas Days? I'm happy...the 'possible future son-in-law' gave me a Logitech surround sound system, and my pal Dan put a ticket for Mark Knopfler's Glasgow gig in my cracker! Wifey was somewhat bemused to unwrap my gift - a Honda generator(it's a long story, but she needs it)

I am working this year so I am in Dubai with the family back in the UK. I did get yesterday off however, went for a walk along the beach in nice "shirt sleeves" weather, cooked a roast chicken and me and a colleague eat it while attacking the duty free. Watched a couple of eposodes of "Later with Jools Holland" and AC/DC at the River plate.

Wifey was somewhat bemused to unwrap my gift - a Honda generator(it's a long story, but she needs it) Hey what a coincindence... my wife didn't get one but she does need one of those. She needs it to run my tyre warmers at Cadwell park and other UK tracks with no power in the pits. Perhaps she'll get one for her birthday.... She'd better appreciate it though.

Just my Mom and I, but I can hardly move after all the ham, sweat potatoes, peas & pearl onions, rolls, black-berry jello salad and lazy betty with ice cream I had... Let's just say, there aren't as many left-overs for today as there should be!
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

Hi, Nice and quiet one. Did not go anywhere, or spend it with anyone. Have been fighting a sinus infection, and it was nice to be able to get up, do nothing, go back to bed, get up, read a little, go back to bed, get up, play a little warcraft, go back to bed, get up, read a little, take some Nyquil at 7PM and go back to bed to get up at 4AM to get ready for work. I guess that as I get older, Christmas has less of a reason to be, for me. Even the words are hollow to my ears, and I prefer to be inside and quiet these days ... wanted to write a poem, but it wasn't there ... wanted to get X1, but the desire wasn't there ... wanted to call someone ... the desire wasn't there . I did play some music ... and heard (again) a John Lennon interview that was interesting. Honestly, I think that he was so confused in his last years, musically and artistically ... and that Yoko was not helping the whole equation anymore, though he stuck by her when most men wouldn't! There are some nice bits in there ... really nice bits ... but sad as well. I was going to play all comedy all day long, and never even thought about it ... and just read a little and slept some and did what the australians call "sweet f--- --- nothing" all day!
As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

It was a quiet one for me, too. Similar situation to Pedro. I'm nearly recovered from a cold/flu that I caught around Thanksgiving. I feel pretty good, but I was glad just to relax.

We had a good Christmas. My wife's Aunt and Uncle (and their 2 dogs), and her parents stayed with us for 3 days, and her Grandfather for 1 day. 13 people came for Christmas dinner on Sunday, and all but 4 came back for breakfast on Christmas Eve. We did the family gathering a few days early because everyone had other plans for the Big Day. I worked up until the last minute getting the house ready. I got done finishing the kitchen 20 minutes before the first guests arrived on Saturday. We had some snow last week and a little bit was still on the ground, so I'm calling it as a White Christmas. I think I made everyone feel at home and welcome, I hope. I went a little overboard with all the lights and decorations, but my goal was to make a memorable Christmas. They already made plans to come here for the 4th of July so everyone must have had a good time. At least I have a project to look forward to now, rebuilding the back porch. It was great having so many people here. Nobody from my family was here, but it was still good. They live too far away.

I was in a lot of pain yesterday and kind of felt poopy in general so nothing exciting. Talked to my mom for a bit on the phone. Screwed around on the internet. Got my laundry together (which I washed today). Started reading and making notes on the X2 manual (gonna try to read the whole darned thing and try everything out if I can). Then I made my first REAL dinner in here. Pork chops, rice and broccoli and it was yummy. Really needed that because I felt all good and healthy today. I also watched a ton of The Walking Dead episodes after dinner and had dreams about zombies through the night. I did not get eaten. Was also surprised to find out the main character, Rick, is a Brit. Freaky. Kind of like when I found out Hugh Laurie was and then got compelled to watch all the Eps of Black Adder. Whatevs... hope you all had a good one. I'm not really a Jesusy dude but I know many of you are so merry belated Christmas.

Whatever you do ... skip over 'A Bit Of Fry And Laurie'. It's awful, unless you find comedy such as this ... "Oh Laurie, you're wearing a yellow tie, you said you were going to wear a brown one." followed by 'insert crowd laughter loop here' amusing. It's free on Hulu (IIRC). Go 'head ... I dare ya, no ... I double dog dare ya!

Well Hugh Laurie could fart in his hand then smell it for half an hour and I'd watch it. Not sure what it is about that dude but I find him highly entertaining. Good to see ya, Bub. Hope you and yours are all happy and healthy. Speaking of which... did you ever go to the doc about that noggin' bonk?

My sisters husband and Laurie could be twins. It's really amazing. Good to see ya, Bub. Hope you and yours are all happy and healthy. Good to see you too Beepster. Everything is status quo so I can't complain. Speaking of which... did you ever go to the doc about that noggin' bonk? No I didn't, but I think I'm going to. I'm really dizzy all the time now. If I move my eyes or head too fast I get almost sea sick. I just haven't had time with the holidays and all the people coming to the house to take a day and go get checked. I know the first thing they are going to do is send me for some kind of scan and I just don't want to deal with it. Thanks for asking. Hope all is well with you. Gotta head out now and get the place tidy. Our Realtor is coming by tonight to see all the remodeling we did. It's unusual, but we got really close to her and became friends. When I first met her and got in her car, she had Marty Robbins blasting on the stereo ... I knew we'd be friends at that point.

Aw... c'mon, man. It's been a couple weeks now and you are still having symptoms. You gotta get that checked out. Especially if you are driving around. I won't nag but that's pretty serious stuff. Brains tend to be useful and I'm told rather important. Stay safe, dude and best to ya.
