How would you do this in X1

I have a small group at church that is going to be working on some music.  They learn mostly by listening.  I have a split track recording and need to make practice CD's with the mens parts emphasized on one CD and the Womens parts emphasized on the other CD.  I am thinking if I can import the tracks I should be able to use EQ to back down the opposite part or boost it using the mens and womens main frequency ranges.   Would you want to split the stereo track out into mono tracks and if so is there a command to do that or do I need to record seperately.

Any ideas on which EQ within X1 would work best for this?  Any help would be appreciated.

So, your 2  track recording has Women or Men on each respective track?

You can import to a track. Then bonce to a mono track while panning hard left. Then bounce to a mono track while panning hard right.

Or you can record the tracks as dual mono thru your In Out sound device.

When you have the two tracks you can mix them any way you want.

The EQ should be irrelevant unless you simply wish to make some adjustment to suit your taste.

    Good Luck,

    best regards,

    just have 3 seprerate mixes.

male vocal up. female vocal up and unison,,, no reason to complicate things .. singers dont listen in frequency. consult with them. the parts are what is most impotant.. i would not sweat EQ without going through the parts first with the singers.

Oh yes, I forgot... you can also simply import the reference track and use Channel tools to get the separate mixes.

That would be the quickest way.

Dim Solo the respective parts. Drop the volume on the respective parts. Changing the EQ will just throw the singers off.
